Anyone see the ESPN coverage (presented by Rick Sutcliffe and Dave O'Brien) of ALCS game three yesterday?

Red Sox fan here settled in for another game in the wee small hours here in Glasgow, Scotland.

I know you guys like your stats ... here's one:

On our various trips to the US and Canada, my wife and I have been to nine sporting events (mostly MLB). On EVERY occasion, the home team has won.

So if any fans want to invite us over the pond to bring some luck to their team, we're available for hire.

Couldn't believe it was read out. Got quite a fright actually, to hear my name on TV. Rick then went on to say that the Red Sox might be taking down the number, as they were in a heap of trouble (at that point in the game).

The offer remains by the way ... feel free to provide an all expenses trip to your home town, if your team is out of luck

as the rays won again..it's not that i'm a big fan...just a little one who's been waiting a long time...for at least this much..

Our record is all the more strange since many of the games went against form.

Of the nine in total, two were hockey matches, and one was a soccer match. Those all went pretty much to form.

The rest were MLB. We saw Toronto win about 4 years ago when they were really struggling. Last year we saw Oakland beat Boston, when Boston were flying high, and the White Sox won, when they were not doing well.

This year, we saw the Rockies beat the Giants, and the Padres beat the Dodgers. The latter was certainly against form.

We've seen Manny twice (once for the Red Sox, and once for the Dodgers), and he didn't win either game.

Manny who?

the lightening won their stanley cup the bucs their superbowl, and the rays still hadn't made to the playoffs..looks like that's changed now too..won't keep them from grumbling....i don't have any old colors bucs stuff,but
i have one item from the rays,and even older,a t-shirt of the Tampa Bay Bandits (USFL)
the rays made it to the playoffs...when the bucs did it,they went on to win
the superbowl.....so who knows...maybe

Bit disappointed to be honest. Was looking forward to watching the world series, if Boston had been there. Will probably still watch some of it, but won't have the same excitement for me.

But well done to the Rays. They were definitely the better team. I'll be a bit torn as to who I should support in the WS. I've been to Philadelphia (though not been to see the Phillies), so have a bit of a connection there. But the Rays play good stuff, and I enjoyed watching them.
