Wow mines a happy one, it was when I was a lil tike and was waiting for the lights in the theatre to go down and the Star Wars Theme starting.
I lived in a small farm town and it took me almost a year to see that movie. Every time we went to the mall in another city.it was sold out, and the family didn't want to spend time there waiting for the next showing. From the time of getting the ticket in my hot little hand and waiting in my seat seemed like an eternity. Worth it though. Totally. There are so many. But one that was particularly torcherous was listening to my Uncle tell dirty jokes on a drive from Bangkok to Kalasin Thailand (6 hours by mostly rural roads)--that's after a 17 hour plane ride with my family in which my uncle and sister kept the rest of us awake by getting drunk and fartin' around. So here's one of the jokes: These two really old ladies where driving behind Lorena Bobbit just after she cut off her husband's penis. Lorena, desperately wanting to get rid of the evidence, opened up her car window and tossed it out. The penis came flying backwards and landed with a thud on the windshield of the old ladies' car, before sliding off and landing on the street. One of the ladies looks over at the other ladies and says, "Did you see the size of the dick on that mosquito?" Yeah, really long drive.

oh no! you just reminded me of a nasty hour stuck in the car, though nothing potentially life-threatening or anything. I couldn't find the keys to the car, which was locked and the alarm was set, so if I opened the door the car horn started blaring. I was drunk and had a migraine, and spent that hour crying and scrabbling around in the car for the keys. Horrid hour.

it's sort of ridiculous, but i was watching my youngest sister once when she was five or so. She started to misbehave and eventually I grabbed her arm to put her in the time out chair. She fought me and I let go of her arm too quickly, and she fell down and hit her head on the hard tile floor. she just stayed in the same position for a while and it seemed to take SO long before she started crying (and then laughing, but really it scared the shit out of me). I usually never talk about this stuff on the org, but...
Waiting to hear if our daughter would live after being brought to emergency when she was 6 weeks old...she was very sick. Again, waiting to hear from the doctor after our daughter had surgery... when she was 4, again when she was 12, and once again at age 13. Those had to be the longest moments ever...
