I think I just accidently took a second iron pill ( 90% daily value each )

I am seriously anemic - always have been

is my body just gonna use it or am I gonna start frothing at the ears and die

Iron Poisoning Symptoms
Symptoms of iron poisoning usually become evident within 6 hours after an excessive amount of iron is swallowed.

Iron corrodes your intestinal lining and is a direct irritant to the stomach.
People with iron poisoning can have the following symptoms:

It sounds like Iron poisining in adults is more difficult so you should be fine...unless you get any of the above symptoms.

I don't think two will hurt you, but I wouldn't take any tomorrow.

Do you have a poison control center near you to call? Or a hospital emergency room? They would be able to tell you if you need to do something. Set your mind at rest and call.

I'm anemic too but have hemochromatosis which is too much ferritin which binds iron in the blood.

You can be anemic and still have effects from too much iron.

I think you should be just fine. I was anemic for a while and had to take iron pills and sometimes I couldn't remember whether or not I took it so I'm sure I took more than one on some occasion. And yes stool softener pills or MiraLax can also help relieve the temporary constipation caused from taking an iron supplement.

I did call my Dr and she said no worries on one day of double up then after the fact I am pretty sure I only took one

Iron suppliments have never made me constipated So I am hoping that doesn't change
