After a wee bit of research, I've come to the conclusion that I would prefer to be awed, which has a certain element of fear, just in the right dosage. That takes a lot of disciplined worked though to achieve.

I remember Sonny being asked the same question "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."

are you sure? i've been awed throughout my life.. it creates distance between people and it can be very very isolating. you find you have expectations to live up to and the people who are in awe of you develop low self-esteem because there you are - always somehow 'better' than them when all you really want to say is: i am no different than you we are the same, you and i be not in awe and be not afraid this awesome presence exists within you also love one another as i have loved you.

are you sure? i've been awed throughout my life.. congratulations it creates distance between people and it can be very very isolating. i guess when one develops a god complex that happens you find you have expectations to live up to anything worthwhile requires work and the people who are in awe of you develop low self-esteem There have been people I've been in awe of not once did I feel inferior because there you are - always somehow 'better' than them when all you really want to say is: i am no different than you we are the same, you and i be not in awe and be not afraid this awesome presence exists within you also love one another as i have loved you.
see ? The truth is, I AM different than you and you than me and so on and so forth. It's the disrespect of difference that is the problem. I looked up both words and under fear was the word respect, awe, not so with the word love. We've had the "love" time, in my opinion, I think a little more respect and awe in this world would do wonders. Besides in truth I think respect and "wonder" is what people mean when they say the word love anyway. Extremes in any direction isn't a good thing, balance is. One without the other is pointless.

Perfect definition.
For me: loved - no question. Fear is dysfunctional, it's poison, it's a weapon. People who need to use fear in their relationships lack self-confidence imo, and maybe by extension self-love. union119 said: raveon2tnek said: there cant be love without fear!

Loved -- but in its truest sense, which, in my mind, subsumes real respect. And that respect is what fear is poised to approximate, never quite enjoying respect's full flourish... much less love's. [Edited 10/19/08 22:52pm] Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
