What does weapons inspections have to do with the US and Great Britian violating the Iraqi No Fly Zone? I'm not a military wizard, so these stunts are very puzzling to me. Would anyone care to elaborate?

Very simple: The US demand that inspectors need to carry out their duty without interference. Since US and GB planes belong to the same countries as the inspectors, the US will look at an attack of the fighterplanes in the no-fly zones as an interference of the inspections (I know it sounds odd), and that according to resolution 1441 will give them a reason to attack Iraq without further notice. As you see, they REALLY wanna do it.
What they dont tell you is that the US and GB have declared those no-flight zones on their own behalf, THERE IS NO UN RESOLUTION to back this up. That means the idea of the no-flight zone is a violation of the UN Iraq treaties within itself. However, nobody is looking for making the US and GB responsible for this violation.

There have been a number of "No Fly Zone" contacts over the years, and this is hardly an isolated incident. Plus, if I recall correctly, quite a while ago...the U.S. and GB attacked and disabled many, most...if not all of Iraq's radar capablilities. (this was well b4 any UN resolutions, or b4 any congressional acquiescence.) Can anyone confirm, or deny these joint actions? (My point...is that they are not connected 2 the arrival of UN arms inspectors. Also, one caveat...I am sure that Hussein will try and impede such inspections, because he does have something 2 hide, and regardless...since this war, in terms of planning, is so far down the road...will happen regardless.) Peace!...I wish...
