Baby Found Alone In Car At SC Strip Club

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- A 27-year-old Myrtle Beach man has been arrested after police say he left his infant daughter alone in a car in a strip club parking lot.

Police said they found the girl's father, Geoffrey Hale, inside Derrieres Mens Club smoking a cigarette and getting a lap dance after someone called to report in the baby in the car. He was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.

Hale told investigators he came to the club to get a cell phone from his wife, who is a dancer there. He says he left the girl in the car because she was asleep.

Hale's wife says the case is a big misunderstanding and they have hired a lawyer to fight the charge.

I did...just the other day, when getting gas. They didn't have pay at the pump like I thought they did, my son had fallen asleep, so I ran in and paid quickly.

I guess for me it goes against every grain of my parenting being - to each their own I suppose

I would never leave a child unattended in a vehical even to run in and pay for gas

that's my issue though I suppose

You dont leave a baby in the car, you toss that shit in the trunk so nosey haters wont know.

oh i wasn't one of those kids that you could leave in a car alone.

when my parents turned the car on, the radio went full blast, the lights would turn on, the wipers going.

i played with every switch, turned the wheel, everything!

my sister imitated me once in put the car in reverse that the car rolled down the hill. or was that me? we don't quite remember because it was traumatic afterwards.

There was a story not too long ago where a child was left in their carseat while a parent went to a mall. It was hot outside. Someone discovered the child who was crying. Mall security broke the car window, police were involved. Child was taken into custody by child welfare. Parent was charged with child abandonment.

Parent(s) should either have a family member, friend or sitter look after their child.

But really if you're not wanting to be responsible, then don't have kids!!

a lady nearby (this was all over our news ) left her 2 year old in the car, with the car running while she ran in to pick up her take-out order.
When she came out, her car was gone. She called the cops and wanted to assist in searching for her car, but they told her to stay put.
They found the car, it was nearby, but not fast enough. The kids who stole the car abandoned it quick smart when they realised there was a baby in it. But they didn't leave any windows open. The child died of heat exhaustion before they could find her.
The woman was sure she could have found the car in time herself, but was not allowed. She has to live with that.

I know a girl that left her infant son and 3 year old daughter in her running car so she can get cigarettes at the gas station. While she was standing in line, the little girl got behind the wheel, put the car in drive, pressed on the gas and drove into the gas station wall. No one was hurt, thankfully.
