I agree. Even if you are married I have a real problem with the word "property". IMO that kind of thinking is detrimental to the relationship and the individuals. Marriage for me is about two people that are already happy on their own who want to come together and be partners for life. I know not everyone defines it that way and not everyone feels the need to get married and that's cool. But, whether I'm married or not I will NEVER be anyone's property.

uhm.. it's just slang terminology (not to mention a song).. I didn't realize you people would take this so personally ..

Oh, I didn't realize you were using slang or referring to a song. I take it personally because I was in a bad marriage with a controlling partner. So, I do take it seriously. And, I wasn't coming down on you. Don't know if you felt that way or not. If you did then I'm sorry. smile I was just stating how I feel.

it is tacky... there's plenty other single men out there to flirt with ..... no need to steal somebody else's property ...

that's the question, I think. If you flirt and someone thinks that that is an indication of availability, then it's definitely not harmless.

I have flirted with people who knew that I had a girlfriend and they had no chance (and I had no chance either wink ) and it felt very innocent. Maybe they felt different, but you'd have to ask them.

BlackAdder7

how would you feel if you were the girlfriend, and someone flirted with your bf right in front of you?

it's also inappropriate to spell inappropriate wrong wink
