commuting/traffic

What is your average driving/travelling time a day to get to work/ school etc?

my time has just doubled from 25 mins to 50 mins each way because of stupid road works that are going to last for 4 months! plus the slighest drop of rain (& it rains a lot here) increases the volume of traffic as well.

Some people walk a 9hr round trip every day to obtain drinking water which is so polluted it may kill them. Bad news on them road works though. I mean, an extra 25 mins!

I commute by public transport. There are days you are so tired, only to find out train service hasbeen cancelled entirely due to technical failure.

I get the commuters blues too sometimes.

I wasnt, i was trying to help you by making you see how irrelevant it is to complain about something as trivial as that. Im guessing u feel better already.

Just under an hour, now that I'm riding the bus. When I drove it took about 30 minutes.

Today and the rest of this week, though, I'm working in a different building. If I could drive, it would only take me 12 minutes. But on the bus it will take me 40. pout

I live within a thirty minute drive from my job. I live close enough to get to everything around me within a fifteen/twenty minute drive (stores, malls, fun, nightlife) but far enough away from the busyness of it all.

Lucky!

My friend in Copenhagen bikes to work. It was so cool catching his morning commute. At like 8 or 9 am, it was about 500 or so people biking to work. More bikes on the streets than cars. It was cool for me to see as an American.

ordinarily, i would be roughly the same as that. but i literally have to drive to get anywhere from my house, as we live in the country. normally ok, but sometimes it can be a pain in the arse, plus have to organise nights out in advance, no such thing as spontaneoulsy going out. sad

when I didn't work from home that was the same for me.
I chose that place to work by drawing a 5km radius circle around my house and targeting design studios within that range boxed

I know, my friends and I have to do that as well because everybody live in different areas of the city, it's a road trip for all of us just to go hang out. So we do alot of lunches during the work week day and parting while we're at offsite meetings and workshops unless it's a specail occassion.

My school is 2.5 miles away. I'd prefer to walk or bus, but I have to be there at 7:30am and service to my neighborhood kinda sucks, so I've been driving. Takes 15-30 minutes, depending on parking.

It takes me about an hour each way using mass transit. If I were to drive during rush hour, the time might be the same because traffic is so bad. Driving late at night, it's only half an hour.

I once took a lift with a girl who commuted 2 hours each way. We sat on the freeway for over an hour, like in a carpark, it was HORRIBLE shake
