new york from old york

i am soon taking my little bro to new york for 10 nights over the halloween period, is there a site that lists what live music is going on in new york? Days of wild play over the halloween weekend but apart from this i would like to have other nights planned...

if anybody has some favourite bars/clubs/pubs in new york which feature either friendly atmosphere, live music, good djs i would very much like to have some 'locals' information. We are travelling from the north of england (near a very old roman City called York!!!) and this may be the only chance i get to see the famous New York

thanks
tcho

stupid brit doesn't know when thanksgiving is edit

thankyou, looks impressive...

also how expensive is life in NYC? A typical restaurant will cost me how much? I'm not rich so will be looking for the less expensive options, although i won't want to eat fast food all 10 days!

I'm staying in Brooklyn, on the L line? Does this run 24hours a day? Can you get a ticket that lets you travel all week? Is it expensive?

sorry for the questions but hey if you don't want to don't answer!!! biggrin smile razz

- There's always an Olive Garden or Applebees somewhere in Brooklyn lol

http://www.olivegarden.co...us/dinner/
not too expensive

- The L line runs all day everyday. The longest u may have to wait for the next train if u were to miss it ...would take about 10-15 mins.

- U can buy a 7 day unlimited metro card for $25. U have unlimited subway and bus access until midnight on the seventh day of the first time u use it. Ex: If u buy it on a Monday, it will expire Sunday at midnight.

Ur staying buy the L line...so if u decide not to eat olive garden or applebees etc...theres some jamaican restaurants, greek restaurants all over

Stop lying. You know there's always some kinda track work on the L line on the weekends with slow shuttle buses replacing them. Taking the L train into Manhattan on the weekends can be a big hassle.

When they're operating properly. But after 10:30 p.m. service noticeably gets slower and less frequent. Many lines suck when the MTA does track work overnight.

*_____*!!!!

GIRL. I am an Edit Nazi. Edit Whore. I love the Edit feature on here. I will admit it.

BUT, when it comes to written words online, I will edit until it's something I'm comfortable seeing in a Google search [!]
