Flu SHOT

Did you/Are you getting one this year?

Do you get one every year?

If not when is the last time you got one?

Do you feel you need the shot?

Last time I got one was '95 or '96. I think it was a good one, because I've never gotten the flu since.

Do they think they picked the right strain of flu to vaccinate against this year?

I think I only got the flu shot once and that was about 5 or 6 years ago. I've only had the flu once. I don't really worry much about it shrug

I've never had one, my husband gets one every year for free through work.
I got flu first time in my life this year, was sick for a month. He was sick 2 days.

I'm considering getting one next year.

so those who got it and say you haven't been sick

do you attribute your health to the flu shot or just you body doing its thing?

the flu sucks, but say without the shot is it that big of deal to get the flu once in while? Is the shot necessary?

I always got them in the past because I got it for free. I didn't get it one year (can't remember why) and I got so sick. I got the flu from hell. I have never been that sick in my whole life. I had a fever of 102 for 7 days straight. My joints hurt horribly. I went to my doctor and laid down in the floor to wait I felt so bad. The doctor game me the strongest percocet available. Even normal tylenol and motrin wouldn't keep my fever down. I will always get the flu shot.

I think so...The only thing I've had to deal with in the past few years are my allergies. But I forgot I had the shot. lol

yeah, a cold used to last a week, now it lingers for two, at least!

Kids get over them quick, but some of them seem to get sick every week!

my friends kids are always getting tummy flu, my kids only ever had that once or twice in their lives. I'm beginning to think spray and wipe has something to do with it.
No surfaces in my household are covered in chemicals (people don't rinse that crap off! eek disbelief )

I hate eating at foodcourts, they are spraying those tables all the time, I guess the alcohol/water component evaporates, but other stuff is left behind confused

Hell no.

A flu shot left my mom paralyzed on one side of her body, like a stroke. I did some research and found out that's not an unheard of side effect of the shot.

I get one every year, Im exposed constantly during flu season and don't want to catch it if I can avoid it. (having said that if I didn't want to get it, I probably would anyway because its usually brought in a needle to my desk and all I hear is pull up ur shirt hehehe)
I'm feelin kind of n-a-s-t-y
I might just take you home with me

yeah I get a bit nuclear after I've cooked chicken. All I see is contamination around the kitchen. When did raw chicken become the most dangerous thing in the world? hmmm

Never had one, never will...

Not that I hate needles or anything, I just believe that my body needs to do it's work and get it all sorted out...

Plus, when I'm sick my wifey takes good care of me and I totally appreciate that...

so...

is it wrong that I'm looking forward to flu season... lol

I get a flu shot every year and have for...geez...well over 15 years.

I've had a couple Type A influenzas and lemme tell ya - they are no picnic. You're sick for a month, basically. Because I'm usually doing plays and/or traveling during flu season, it's cheap insurance.

I also wouldn't want to burden my co-workers (one, in particular) with a lengthy absence.
