On the Waterfront. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Besides The Godfather I & II, probably Goodfellas.....
There are a lot good European mob-movies as well, especially Italian.....'Il Poivre' comes to mind, and just recently 'Gomorra'. These movies tend to be less glamorous and more real.....one should check them out! Best mob-series: The Sopranos, ofcourse! I like mob-stories best when it's about the middle-men, that's why The Sopranos was so brilliant since it centered around the lower side of the mob's infrastructure.....not NYC, but Jersey.....all the characters were losers.

The Godfather I & II of course and a lot of the obvious ones.
From what i can remember Miller's Crossing was cool and so was State of Grace. but i watched these years ago, so i can't say how well they've aged.

A BRONX TALE Apparently it's Biographical! Yes, Chazz Palminteri wrote this as a broadway play based on his own story growing up in NY. I really like this movie.
