I am having a pity party

I have teenagers. A lot. I am sick of them. It is causing so my stress at home and with my relationship. I joke about it a lot, but the situation can and does get ugly. I am the only one who always fixes everything. I will call a family meeting and run it. I will come up with rules and consequences. I will sit down with my husband and find some common ground. His game plan is to leave everything alone and it will work itself out. It's like I was put on earth just for other people. I am exhusted and want to be even slightly appreciated. Sorry. I just needed to vent.

I appreciate you.

at least you are trying to teach your kids right from wrong. You are trying to raise them the best way you know how to. I commend you for taking the time. They hear you, they may not admit it, act like it or want to, but they do. Later when they are older you will see what a difference you made.
Hang in there mama, it really is for the good.

I really believe they will. And I think we are doing a good job. I need to take better care of my own mental health. I take things too personally. Nothing we are going through is abnormal. It's just exaggerated because of the numbers. It's like mob mentality. Tomorrow I will wake up feeling like super mom again.

comfort it's hard when you don't have the support of your significant other to back you up when trying to set rules & limits. its like playing "good cop / bad cop" with the exception that you hardly ever get to play good cop. instead you get the "well, daddy doesn't mind..." or "daddy said it was okay..." etc.
so, i took up running. its like running away without actually running away.
hang in there RN, alas there's light at the end of the tunnel. they eventually grow out of it!

Sometimes when I would feel overwhelmed with 2 teens and 2 gradeschoolers - or then later 2 teens and My Mom with the basic mentality of a spoiled 6 yr old ...

I would remember that it is imprtant for me to step back - even away for a weeks vacation and let others handle things on their own

It IS OKAY to take a break and step back and away to gain perspective and to give others the chance to gain perspective

best wishes rose

At my job, I've worked with teenagers for the last 17 years.

My conclusion is that every single one of them needs to be punched in the face first thing in the morning, just to set the tone and straighten their asses out before they get any ideas.

And that includes myself when I was a teenager working that job.

I know they've got a lot going on in their heads and their hormones, but seriously, a sucker punch would do wonders for their attitude.

And every year, the newest batch is worse than the last.
