OK. I just finished the workprint of Blade Runner and I gotta pass judgment.

It is the best Sci-Fi film of the 80's and probably one of the top 3 of all time.

To me, good Sci-Fi should be entertaining, but also make you aware of or question the Human Condition. Blade Runner is one of the most effective examples of that standard I have ever seen. It speaks to the very core of human existence.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

The book can be hard to get through, but you should practice first with...say...Lord of the Rings.

I just bought the 6th book in the series & I can't wait to read through it. Herbert does an amazing job at dealing with issues such as religion, destiny, and even human evolution in his complicated story.

So to answer the original question of this thread...I vote; DUNE.

Followed closely by Star Wars (both ESB & ROJ).

Me too. I was a big "Enemy Mine" fan. But, for pure art..."Blade Runner" is the top. Easily one of the best Sci-Fi movies of all time...maybe the best.
