Best SCI-FI Movie of the 70's

What is your pick??? I'm going with Alien (I know some may say it's a horror movie).

This is an obvious pick, but Star Wars was brilliant.

I would put Close Encounters of the Third Kind up near the top too.

Star Wars lock
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

i'll jump on the bandwagon: star wars, and close encounters coming in at second place.

i also thought 'the black hole' was cool. i liked vincent and old b.o.b. lol

My favorite: Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Next up, and certainly the most influential culturally:

Star Wars

and of course

A L I E N was genius.

The mid 70's to the early 80's was the best groundbreaking movie era!

Star Wars! For so many reasons other than pure cult status!

One of my favorite movies from when I was a kid was Battle Beyond the Stars. It was the Seven Samurai...in space! I'm pretty sure it was made in 78 or 79.

Michael Crighton is a genius.
I see a remake is being planned sad
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
