I've got athsma, so it's recommended I get one annually. I've gotten one every year for the past 4 or 5 years, and I've escaped the flu. I hope to get this year's shot in the next few days.

I always get one because the last time I had the flu I ended up getting double-pneumonia. I do not want THAT again!

i never get the shot, don't need to, i have a healthy immune system.

i think i had the flu a couple of months back, and i went home sick from work straight to bed.

the next day it broke but i still wasn't up to 100% so i carried vitamin c tablets around with me and chewed on them the next day.

after a few days, i was like new!

Cinnie

I got a flu shot last winter, and a homeopathic flu "shot" the winter before that. I had a flu both winters so this year I am trying without.

I figure, what's the point if I got them anyway?

come to think of it, a few years back i had a major flu, but even then it wasn't that bad.

i stayed home from work a couple of days.

although i do feel sorry for some who are out of commission for weeks when they get the flu, so some might feel they need it to cut the length of thim down.

I used to be totally anti-shot, I would get the flu but would be up and about in a few days. That was until 6 years ago I came down with one hell of a bug, and missed 2 weeks of work. It was a helllish experience. Since then I have got the shot every year and have not been out one day. Last year the flu was raging in my office and everyone on my floor (about 60 people) was out except me and about 25 other people. Not sure if it was the shot or what, but now I make a point to get it.

i've read thru descriptions here, and it seems i have missed the flu...i've never gotten the shot, and won't be geting one that i can see...
and something must be working right in the ol immune system.
i haven't missed any days at work for it either..

i'm not gonna tip that kind of balance...for now..
