Do you like to be defined or do you like to keep 'em guessing? Are you the kind of person who makes their interests and defining characteristics extremely clear, and people relate those things to you because you are ALWAYS linking those things to yourself? For example, everyone might know your favorite color is blue because you wear blue EVERY day, or everyone might know you're a Prince geek because you have Princey stuff covering your desk area at work and your ringtone is the beginning of "Sexuality", or everyone might know you're a sports nut because you wear jerseys every day and sports are all you can talk about and everyone comes to you for their sports trivia needs, etc. *OR* Do you like to keep your passions under the surface and keep people guessing? Do you consider these things to be private and personal, or are you just so mercurial that as soon as everyone pegs you as having a passion for unicorns, you've already moved on to a total love for talking penguins? Which type are you? If you're of the first category, what are the the defining passions that everyone identifies you by? If you're of the second category, do you ever wish you were more like the people in the first category? ANSWER ME NOW! PS: Imago is banned from this thread. (No, I can't do that, and I probably wouldn't want to anyway, but I figured I'd bluff and see if it works. )

i think im like the second, and no I dont want to be more like the first group.
i dont like doing what everyone is doing, and i dont care for people commenting on what i am doing especially when its likely they dont have an understanding of it or appreciation for it.

I'm open about a lot of stuff, but unless I am directly asked, I do keep a lot of things to myself.
I'd prefer to keep them guessing...doesn't always happen that way, though.

Ex-Moderator | People who know me can't help but associate me with black and pink, a certain asthetic/sense of style, my red bob and probably even Prince.
I never planned that one way or the other. But I'm fine with it as it is. |

I'm pretty open about a lot of things, but I do tend to keep some things to myself. So I guess that I keep 'em guessing... kinda

I don't do/act/type what I do or how I do for others. I have to do what I need to do for myself. If that is groovy for others cool and if not then that's okay by me aswell

If that is groovy for others cool and if not then that's okay by me aswell i think that's close to how i feel. i don't like putting my life on display, but if someone wants to ask what i like, i don't mind telling them. it's no secret for me, but people seem to want to freezeframe something you're enthusiastic about on a certain day and have that represent you for the rest of your days. and i'm just not that kinda guy. with a slight handful of exceptions, i may be totally enthusiastic about something today and then bored with it three months from now. so i find it's easier to keep my enthusiasm to myself unless someone really wants to know.

I prefer to be kept a mystery, however I am defined in the area of my feelings about cats. LOL People tend to call me a "goth," since I wear a lot of black and the way I do my make-up, but the kinda go when they see what I'm listening to and on days where I change my style. I like to keep people guessing by throwing them off what they think is the "norm" for me. "When words fail, music speaks..." --- Shakespeare

I am an A/B person; some things are obvious, other things are none of people's business. Some of those things you can ask about and get an honest answer, others will have me swerve around the question, as I do not have an appetite to discuss it at that moment or with certain people. But, if that's the case, I just tell them it's none of their business.

Huh. Interesting question.
I'm sooooo open, I'll tell anybody anything if they ask. But . . . . . . yeah, I don't think I project my passions in the way that you're describing. They're kinda random and nerdy and I don't really expect anybody to care. I mean, some of my best friends don't know that I'm a Chinese tea aficionado. Or that I have a passionate love of modern design/architecture. That I'm way interested in the art of crafting perfumes. That I've collected weird certifications. . . pharmacy tech, euthanasia tech, first aid/CPR, wilderness navigator, multimedia designer. That I've spent years studying the philosophy of ethics. How would one display these things? How would I wear them on my sleeve? Even if I wanted to, I don't think I could. "What's 'non-sequitur' mean? Do I look it up in a Fag-to-English dictionary?"
