when watching any of mine at night i typically have the backlight adjusted to a near lowest setting and put it on movie mode. The brightness hurts my eyes when watching tv in the dark. i have this TV, but the one with the square base, and a 40" and a 36" samsung last years models (all black cases) I am so glad it has those 3 adjustable modes, ours is in a very bright room, so standard is good, and movie is a MUST at night I hate the rose-black "crystal design" I would prefer an all black casing, preferably matt, the gloss shows up every speck of dust and watermark [Edited 10/7/08 16:33pm]

Only slightly dampen a microfiber cloth if you need to remove grease or water marks, then dry with another micro fibe cloth. Never use paper towels. I thought i didnt like the red casing wither, but its fine. i do prefer the black case i have on my 36" one for some reason, it reminds me of italian design. Imnot certain but i think the the red case was designed by Karim Rashid

I love my HDTV so much, I'm almost at the point where I refuse to watch any program not in HD. Former favorite channels like IFC and Sundance have been cast aside.
