but I find it weird to watch a movie on it, suddenly everything looks like a soapie It's hard to explain, it's like before, things filmed in panavision looked like a MOVIE, now everything has that 'filmed in video' look, it's so clear! I've turned down the sharpness and contrast and it still looks weird to me! anyone else found this?

I have a 42" LCD/HDTV....and porn never looked creepier!! It gives that whole "peeper hiding in the closet" vibe.... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

What brand did you get?
I can only speak to the Samsungs, but there are modes that adjust all aspects of the picture to preset levels for different genres. You may find something you like without having to mess with each individually. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

On standard DVDs, if you're upconverting, they take on a different quality as well. I'd be interested to see if you can play a DVD without upconverting if you prefer the image quality. I guess I could just play it through the normal DVD player and see Horton Hears a Who seemed very "live" if you know what I mean.

There are 3 preset modes: standard - movie - dynamic each of which are easily changed to suit, and you can press reset to go back if you mess it up. Is there an option to save new user presets too? [Edited 10/5/08 22:50pm]

[Edited 10/5/08 22:50pm] Not sure on that. I have no remote batteries to check with right now either. I haven't used the TV remote since the 1st setup. What I did is use the THX optimizer that can be found on many discs to set my audio and video. You can order the glasses you need from www.thx.com. I've been very pleased with the results. When you get them all the same shade of blue through the glasses, that is the optimal setting according to THX. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. Series 6 46inch (LA46A650) Did you mean the Samsung LN46A650? These are the optimal settings for a dimmed (darkened) entertainment room. This might be too dim for a bright sunlit room, and you could adjust it a bit brighter after these settings are put in: --Picture menu Mode: Movie Backlight: 3 Contrast: 93 Brightness: 44 Sharpness: 0 Color: 52 Tint: G50/R50 Detailed settings submenu Black adjust: Off Dynamic contrast: Off Gamma: +3 Color space: Auto Flesh tone: 0 Edge enhancement: Off xvYCC: Off White balance submenu R-Offset: 25 G-Offset: 26 B-Offset: 25 R-Gain: 24 G-Gain: 23 B-Gain: 14 Picture options submenu Color tone: Warm2 Size: Just Scan Digital NR: Off DNIe: [grayed out] HDMI black level: [grayed out] Film mode: [grayed out] Blue only mode: Off Auto motion plus 120Hz: Off --Setup menu Entertainment: Off Energy saving: Off My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

The brightness hurts my eyes when watching tv in the dark. i have this TV, but the one with the square base, and a 40" and a 36" samsung last years models (all black cases)
