"Them or Me" A friend of mine has 2 pit bulls**. She is in a great relationship with a wonderful man. They discussed living together at his house, but he told her "Get rid of the dogs and you can live here".
Dog lovers: Would you get rid of your pets for your significant other? **Please don't give us a lecture on the "danger of pitbulls". That's not the point here. It's about a pet owner/lover giving up something he/she loves for another person** "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

for my current partner, yes. Though I would not consider the option of putting them down, and he would have to wait until I found a good home for them. And that may take YEARS

hey, there's nothing wrong with having a relationship where both people live in their own respective homes, especially when there is a compelling reason. it's not an ideal set-up, but this might be one of those compelling reasons.
if he doesn't want the dogs in his home and she is attached to her dogs, i'd say they're not ready to make that next step yet. i would tell them to take their time coming to a compromise they can both live with, and not to do anything drastic until then.

It's about a pet owner/lover giving up something he/she loves for another person** Well, I am single and have 2 boys. They have their dog who they are very attached to, so I don't think I would take their dog from them. That's really tricky. If I didn't have kids I don't know what I would do. I guess it really would depend on the guy and his reasons and how attached I was to my dog and the home that I could find for them. I wouldn't give them to a shelter knowing they'd be put down.

Pitbulls are awesome family pets... my favorite breed of dog.
I would compromise IF he has allergies, or the landlord, condo association, or neighborhood didn't allow for that breed of dog, and he would have to wait until I found the dogs good homes, he would even have to help me in the search. Otherwise, I'd leave him alone if he just didn't like dogs and I was a dog lover. Deal breaker.

There is a good chance the relationship will fail. And then she'll be angry and wracked with guilt over having given up the dogs.
If you are good to a canine, it will fill your life with many years of loving, loyal companionship. People? Not so much. P.S. Pitbulls suck.

Actually, in my case, the reverse is true....we have a dog and a cat...for some reason, my allergies have flared up after being dormant for a long time and my wife keeps telling me that if my sneeze-fests continue, the pets are on the way out...but I keep telling her that I'll adjust, even if it means taking shots for the allergies because I like the little furry fuckers too much to get rid of them..... He was like a cock who thought the sun had risen to hear him crow.

Ex-Moderator | I couldn't live with someone who couldn't live with my kitty and any future kitties I will likely have as pets.
Doesn't mean the relationship has to end, but, well, that's it. |

Fuck, no. I'd choose the dogs and then get some young dude to fuck via booty calls instead.

Im just wondering why he wants her to get rid of the dogs Is it because he dosent like the breed? Or are there other reasons? PRINCE IS WATCHING U " When an Artist Creates, whatever they create belongs to society"

He has a little girl that he has every other weekend. Maybe that has something to do with it? "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

He has a little girl that he has every other weekend. Maybe that has something to do with it? Ahhh, that would be it is my guess. I know u dont wnat us to go on about the whole pitbull thing, but maybe thats his concern. Not just that they are pitbulls maybe, but that they are fairly big strong dogs. I know my youngest is wary of some dogs because he had a rather friendly "looking" shaggy type of dog bite him on the face outside a store a couple of years ago just because he tired to give it a pat (he loves dogs) Lucky he just came away with some scratches near his eye and his lip, but something like that can be enough to scare kids for life. Do u know if his daughter is scared of dogs, or if dad is just scared she might get bitten? Really any dog u have to be careful with around kids. Ive heard so many stories where people have had a family dog...nice and gentle, for years when one day it suddenly bites the kids for no reason. I suppose with the rep pitbulls have he would be even more worried PRINCE IS WATCHING U " When an Artist Creates, whatever they create belongs to society"
