I remember watching a documentary about the obese in america and a man commenting on it said that in america smoking is seen as almost being in league with the devil and completely socially unexceptable in certain parts of america whereas being fat is fine!
I remember he recalled how he had been in a resturant with a smoking area when he lit up an incredibly obese woman started having ago at him for smoking and how bad it was for him and how it would end up killing him he said he had to bite his tongue and leave.
