The issues we were talking about are close to my heart because of the problems my wife has experienced through others' ignorance. Ok, I feel I should address this. Your understanding will make no difference to my situation but hopefully u might understand something different about culture..

I never call my wife a slut.

Where we usually go out in Bangkok is a place called "gullivers". It's a western sports bar and it's possible to find some very cool people from all around the world, and if u're smart, some nice Thai people too.

It's not a go-go bar and the prostitutes u find there are not your typical sort that hang on street corners. It doesn't work the same way. But these girls are prostitutes all the same because they will let a man buy them drinks all night and pay for stuff and then sleep with him afterwards basically in return for that.

My wife used to work in bars around Khao San Road for a few years but she has never lowered herself and has values she holds dear to her. She loves to party and she loves to dance but she certainly is not a slut. However, sometimes it has happened that American guys have touched her and when she has objected they've made foul remarks.

Because we like the bar and we know friends that go there we enjoy going there and wouldn't want to have to stay away. Hence my telling my wife about being careful how u dress and how u dance when u're in this particular context. The people who know u may know what u're like but others can get the wrong impression. Bangkok can be a dangerous place and my wife hasn't always been too good about looking after herself and taking care of herself.

Now we're together she wants to change this and that's why she accepts my advice and understand what I say. Isn't this what every couple does, learns from each other? Surely it is a good thinig to grow with somebody because u each make each other change and grow into a better person. Sometimes she knows the best for me and sometimes I know what's best for her and this way we care for each other and look out for each other.

That's why I don't understand what u're saying. This is all common sense stuff. it's pretty simple to understand.
