I sure do! Especially now that my man isn't working and is trying to finish up his schooling. I hold doors open to all genders as well. Just being courteous. smile

I always open the door for people, especially if they're hampered by something they're carrying or by children.

And I always offer to pay or at least split the bill unless it's established ahead of time the other person is definitely paying.

chivalry and manners... and I meant in dating, if a guy is interested in dating, I'd want to see the gentleman that he is

So you'd expect the guy to open doors and pick up bills, but you wouldn't return the treatment?

that's usually what a gentleman does... treats the woman like a lady.. that's how respect is established in the beginning..

Then how does the woman treat the man?

To me it should always be reciprocal and be some approximation of equality, or there's no play. I'd feel very uncomfortable expecting a man to act like a butler that buys things for me and pulls out chairs for me. I know some women dig it, but I couldn't handle the inherent inequality in being treated like a "princess". It places the male in a strangely subservient position, and sets up the female in a position where repayment is expected, if you catch my drift.

I understand what you mean, the obligation ... but after 2 dates, my mind is made up on him cause I don't think a female should take advantage of a guy, if she's not interested, she should cut it off... a female should always be prepared to pay for herself.. if he becomes a good friend of mine, then sure, I'll pay for him.... good friends and boyfriends I'll take care of..

Of course. I'll hold open doors and give up bus seats for strangers too. It's polite.
