Evaluating talent - whether in sports or business - is hard.
I think the head of personnel is the most important person in any large company.

I don't see the problem. At least one or two of the picks turned out great almost every year except for the last two, which is still too soon to tell. Looks like reasonable odds to me.

The ones in BOLD are the ones that panned out and the ones in ITALICS are either panning out and the jury's still out or they had decent careers. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Plus, some of the ones you didn't bold had long, productive careers even if they didn't maintain superstar status, including Laettner and Lafrentz. Didn't Charles Smith play awhile too?

Yeah, I missed Iverson and Camby for 1996, I just re-did them. And Smith played for a good while. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

And Antonio McDyess averaged almost 18 points and 9 rebounds for his first six years in the league and won a gold medal in 2000. Plus he's still contributing and I believe starting for the Pistons. So it ain't like he was a busta. Oh and I think Chris Jackson's career would've been more productive if it wasn't for the Muslim stigma. [Edited 10/13/08 18:18pm]

[Edited 10/13/08 18:18pm] Yeah, once he became Mahmud Abdul Raouf and he wouldn't come out for the national anthem, that was pretty much it for him. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher
