You can count England, Scotland and Wales as separate countries, because, as well you know, they are. smile

It only matters to the peeps living in those three areas. To the rest of the world yer just ONE country, called The United Kingdom.

Or Great Britain. Whateva. One queen, one country.

I know, I know. But - my rather feeble argument is that as this is about countries you've visited, and you've been for example, first to England and then to Scotland, you will be aware that you are visiting two distinct and separate countries - if only because the residents of said countries will make it absolutely clear that this is the case. Ergo, I think, they can be counted as separate.

And if it's One queen, one country, that does not bode well for the country count of those who have visited the UK and have also visited Australia, Canada, Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Anguilla, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands, Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, or Saint Helena.

Scotland is not part of the kingdom.....Wales is.

They may like to think otherwise, but technically the United Kingdom includes four constituent countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

You know yer wrong. The UK counts as ONE. States of united anythings count as ONE. The US is counts as ONE. Or the 4th of July is is just a joke.

The other list you name is probably the Commonwealth, which were former colonies and only counts if you live in the past, or, if you wanna feeble some more.

They don't. They use sterling too, although (as far as I know) each of the banks in Scotland may produce their own notes, whereas England's notes are all issues by the Bank of England.

Cuz they're all islanders. Remember Phil's nationalistic streak? They're freaking mad and the Scotts? Well... they'd do anythings to taunt England.

Hey, it was you who brought up the Queen, and yes, all of those listed are commonwealth or dependencies, which means that they all recognize the queen.
As you say, they have one queen. They're united. They are not seperate.

So try telling someone who's visiting Bermuda that they're in the UK and see how they react. smile

Sadly, I haven't been or I probably would.

But as we're swaying into that territory, do Narnia, Neverland, and Middle Earth count?
