Honestly? I would say good-bye, tell everyone I wish them the best, tell the ones I am close to where they can find me. People diss goodbye threads, but unless they entail some maudlin existential rant, I appreciate them. This joint is like a neighborhood pub, and so when someone's life steers them away from the org -- even temporarily -- it's nice to know where they've gone. I can't be so close to every orger that they'd personally send me an orgnote saying goodbye... but it doesn't mean they're unimportant to me. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

My own goodbye note would simply say that I'm leaving for a bit, but thanks for the community... and that hopefully I'll be back one day.
