Think pretty highly of yourself Emerald (Please do not take offense, Emerald, I mean no harm by this or my other post)

I am sure that there were things that I wouldn't have wanted my folks to know while I was doing them, but I only did the regular mischief in high school. Sex, pot, beer. Nothing too bad.

Anything I kept from my parents as a kid, I still keep from them now.

Let's just say I lead a double life. I can't get into details but the double life had nothing to do with being gay. I came out at 16.

I was kinda of a mess for a while BUT I still took care of my shit. Oh lawd. The stories.

My parents never knew some of the crazy stuff I did in my teens.

Same here.

Never told'em anything. Never will.

This past summer I've told my parents that I have experimented with LSD while I was in boarding school, nearly 20 years ago.....Their reaction was: 'Oh.....' neutral

I am not afraid of posting about my crazy life because despite all the crap I lived through, there was still a lot of love in my home as a kid. I know the org gets a broad audience, and reading threads about people killing themselves helps me to be more open. Shit, if my mom introduced me to pot at 8 and I gave it up at 11, and still was able to go to college and be a good mom raising honor students, then hell... I hope somebody reads this and realizes that any situation can be a positive one. THAT is my reason for sharing. Many people put too much emphasis on what others think of them. Success and positivity can come from anywhere, I know , I am living proof. lol

Oh and in defense of my mom's craziness, she was abandoned and abused all her life, she wasn't raised by her parents, and was on the streets by age 12. She didn't have a decent blueprint on "how to properly raise kids" or a decent support system. Well, now she does in me. heart

love my mommy edit.

Thank you. rose heart rose

over the years I've told them most everything...it's hard for them to hear because it reflectd that they weren't payin' attention. But I was never a shy or secretive kid. I had my permission to smoke cigs from both parents by 13 so...I dunno.
I think it might be the other way around...my mom has had to tell me somethings that I'm sure she thought I'd kill her over. lol

the "worst" thing (to me) I ever did was as an adult...and it was hard to admit it to my parents...
I "chewed and screwed" (meaning had dinner and didn't pay the bill) at a resturant one time....I'm still baffled by it...it's not something I'm proud of for sure and it's way outta character for me.
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

My mom knows everything I've done. Underaged drinking, various drugs, sex, the whole shebang. Since nothing I did is a serious offence legally or morally, she doesn't much care.

I wasn't raised in a normal household, but I have a very close relationship with my mom, I love her and yes respect her. I never got high as a teen and never drank too much. Weird, but somehow she did alright by me. I know I'll be judged by some people here (who don't understand) by sharing the truth, but I made peace with stuff like that long ago. biggrin

Sounds to me like you grew up in a much healthier household than all those who were terrified of their parents getting mad about something and had to sneak around to have fun.
