So, fellow fans of the good doctor, what say ye all regarding the season premiere of House, M.D. earlier this week, and the tantalizing possiblities it laid out for future episodes?

Will House and Wilson kiss and make up sooner rather than later, and just how many patients will the team almost kill while House is preoccupied with wooing back the Felix to his Oscar? Will Thirteen become increasingly insufferable as she comes to terms with her newly-diagnosed illness? Will Cameron and Chase commit clandestine acts of debauchery in the ICU linen closet? Will we discover why Chase seemed to have his scrubs in a bunch and was markedly more grouchy and sharp than usual? And, certainly most importantly, will Cuddy's increasingly tighter and ever-plunging outfits finally break a rib or cause her to catch a life-threatening chest cold?

I thought the premiere opened doors for interesting character development and insight into psyches - particularly House and Wilson - and I am curious to see where that will lead, but still felt this first show of the season to be a bit off-kilter overall, as if [most] everybody was trying too hard, their personalities forced, and attitudes and reactions too contrived.

Still, looking forward to next episode!

I used to watch House religiously but missed most of last season due to school. Would I be completely lost trying to start watching again?

hi mr. wonka! i was pretty disappointed with the season finale last year (SO sappy!) but even so i watched the premiere. i guess it was okay, nothing terribly eye-catching right off the bat.

i truly hope the show does not veer off into the soap-opera syndrome wherein the show's writers, having used every scrap of every plot idea they ever had, begin developing plots that are driven mostly by melodramatic tension between the characters.

Loved House reaction to Wilson saying he needs a change of scenery: "Buy a plant!" That line is so House.

I loved the premiere. Hugh Laurie's and Robert Sean Leonard's acting was perfect as usual.

i never knew what this show was about until it was explained to me recently. they said, "it's about a doctor with addiction issues and he takes young students under his wing and they solve mysteries every episode."

and i said, "and so, what, they all live in a HOUSE?"

now i know it's the gentleman's name. I DIDN'T KNOW!!!

ha loved the line where he told Wilson that in about six months he'll will have moved on from Amber to Burnt Sienna....

That reminds of another House line, though. Hospital inpector meets House and says that he has heard his name before (propably because House notoriously breaks rules). House says: "Most people have. It's also a noun."

My mother has the annoying habit of asking me what I'm looking for EVERYTIME I come into the room and look around. Answered her with another House line once: "Same as you - love, acceptance, solid return on investment." Yes, I know all these lines from memory.

I don't know, I think everyone needs to watch House. Hugh Laurie is a genius, IMO.

As long as you're aware as to the major turns that have occured and their relevancy to this season (mainly Amber's death and House's involvement in it, and Thirteen's Huntington's Disease diagnosis), you wouldn't be much lost at all.

I quite enjoyed last season's finale, sentimental or tear-jerky as it may have been. I thought the final scene with House and Amber on the bus was especially good - it gave the viewer such a necessary glimpse into what makes House the way he is, and humanized him, gave him deeper dimension.

From what I've been reading, this season will indeed involve heavy doses (ha!) of character exposition (particularly in regards to Thirteen, who I find rather boring and, after this week's show, irritating...), and plotlines revolving around certain relationships. Hopefully the writers will skillfully accomplish that, and not to any detriment or sacrifice of the patient/mystery illness aspect of the show.

well, i'm glad you liked it. i obviously do not totally hate house, or i wouldn't watch it and look forward to watching it.

but, i'm afraid it will be airing at the same time as my other favorite, which i 'Reaper'. hopefully the networks won't force us to choose....

I missed the premiere but House is one of the few shows I watch on a regular basis.
