Grammy winner and Richmond native, D'Angelo is in trouble after a run-in with local police.

Chesterfield Police arrested the singer Monday morning while trying to serve warrants related to a traffic altercation Sunday night.

Authorities say D'Angelo, whose real name is Michael Archer, is charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, aggressive driving as well as using abusive language.

Chesterfield police went to D'Angelo's house today with warrants stemming from an alleged incident near Chesterfield Towne Center Sunday. Police say the singer was involved in an aggressive driving incident around 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon, it involved spitting. Officers went to the singer's Chesterfield home today to serve warrants on him. Authorities say D'Angelo, whose real name is Michael Archer, resisted arrest. He was facing assault, aggressive driving, and disorderly conduct charges from Sunday's incident. Police say he's now facing another charge of resisting an arrest. D'Angelo has been released on his own recognizance. He's scheduled to be in court on January 15th.

I just heard during a radio news cast that there was also a woman involved at some point and he spit on her and verbally abused her.

I thought it'd be for marijuana posession of anything. Agreesive driving? he got pulled over for changing lanes? lol. "abusive language" ?? You can get charged for that?? This reminds me of that Chris Rock sketch(what?? you dont have The Best Of Chris Rock dvd Vol.2?) where he says what to do if you get pulled over. One of them is to "shut the fuck up!".
