I have studied and trained in traditional Tae kwan do for the last 16 years and have 2 black belts. My instructor also introduced us to Ju jitsu and Hapkido and boxing/ grapling skills. I was also studying alittle bit of Aikido and allowed to bring moves into the class and demonstrate. I really enjoyed it but the class shrank down in size and it started to get boring the past year and I needed to take a break for the last 8 months. I might jump back in with my instructer/friend and pick it back up soon.

What was really nice is my instructor was open to any art coming in by way of a new instructor. We had many friends in different arts that have trained from 10-25 years and we would have many seminars with them. We did some tournaments but mostly studied full contact with control for street fighting.

I breathed it for quite awhile and it changed my perception on life. Never had to use for defense but use it daily to keep aware of surroundings and size up situations to keep out of trouble.

We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.
