The skin around my eyes is softer and younger looking with that healthy glow no more dark circles and extra puffyness. The fine lines are gone - seriously What amazed me most was how the upper lid area ( I slather that goop on all ova my eyes right before bed ) has lost the puff and lightened up. My eyes deffinatly have that more open look

The best thing you could add to your skin care line if you're already not using it is an exfoliant. As we get older it takes longer for skin cells to renew themselves so if we exfoliate the dead skin away it will force us to make new ones. Anything with salicylic or lactic acid is great for light peels and glycolic are also great. Salon peels have 30% or less of these ingredients in them so they are safe, where as you'd have to go to a doctor to get it stronger, aka chemical peel.
So exfoliate and use spf EVERY day...even when it's cloudy! Also dermalogica makes a great product called MAP-15 Regenerator. It forces Vitamin C deeper into the skin providing antioxidant protection and helps with collagen formation. It's expensive but you only use a little bit and I have noticed great changes using it!

About a week ago I started using the new St Ives Elements " Microderm-Abrasion wash in the mornings. My face looks smoother already
I bought it because I ran out of the Clinique 7 day scrub - I like the St Ives better then the 7 day scrub.

It's not the best but if you're happy with it then use it. You shouldn't use a hard scrub on your face daily. It's funny that they call it Microderm-Abrasion....microdermabrasion is really a professional exfoliant where you use a brush with crystals on your face! Good way to market an over the counter product!

I have to use something like this often because my skin will get patchy/dry and flakey if I dont. The St Ives does have tiny mineral crystals in it I guess what ever sells a product works. 7 days in and I am pleased and it doesn't cost an arm and leg "best" to me isnt about $ spent it's about how it works for me - everyone is different

It depends on your skin type. I'm partial to Dermalogica products because I use them in school and I SEE the changes it has made to my skin, my classmates skin and my clients' skin who come in regularly. I use daily micro 5 times a week and the thermal exfoliant from their age smart line once a week. The daily micro is $45 but will last you a year if you use the correct amount, which is a little less than a teaspoon. . [Edited 9/22/08 7:26am]

Like I said I'm partial to dermalogica!!! Their age smart line is AWESOME. Are you using a toner before moisturizing? It helps penetrate the products deeper into the skin. They have an emollient moisturizer called barrier repair that helps free radicals from attacking your skin. Sounds like a good exfoliant, toner and moisturizer is key for your problem, and a good hydrating mask once a week. Also remember you NEED to drink lots of water to hydrate your cells! OMG I'm such an esthetician!!! One more month until I graduate!!!

Excellent stuff... priced at $17.00. 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse-Off Formula Nudges away roughness, flakiness to refine skin. Helps lessen the appearance of fine lines. Clears the way for moisture. Suitable for all skin types. Facial care is expensive, even with minimal products.

I'd like to say no they are all crap, but I saw an ad for Olay's Definity or whatever it's called, and there I was, nearly sucked into their marketing, cause HOPE is what they sell, no cure or prevention for anti-aging. I didn't buy it, bought worming tablets for the dog instead

I'm lucky to have nice skin. The one really annoying thing is that my t-zone gets shiny and I can't stand it. I will NOT leave the house without sunscreen and in the fall/winter my skin gets dry.
What moisturizer/sunscreen can I use that will work well? Anyone have suggestions? I like to use at least 30 spf if possible. Thanks...

I think the higher you go in spf the thicker it makes the product. This one is only 20 but it won't leave your face oily: http://www.dermalogica.co...K®ion=A Also the Age Smart dynamic skin recovery is great and has an spf of 30 but I tend to be on the drier side on my cheeks and forehead so it doesn't bother me.

The ultra calming is one of my favorites. You can even use it with cotton pads if you're in a pinch and you don't need to rinse it off. The only thing with this product is that it has wheat in it, so if you have a gluten allergy you can't use it. The barrier repair is awesome. It's an emollient so it can even act as a "filler" like photo finish and your concealer or foundation will smooth right over it.
