How do you sleep?

Inspired by a question on another thread giggle

How do you sleep? Go in to as much or as little detail as you'd like.

I like the room to be slightly cold when I sleep. I sleep under heavy covers all year round. In fact, I have trouble sleeping when it's hot or under light covers.

I have to sleep lying down...which sounds stupid, but what that means is I cannot sleep on airplanes or road trips.

I snore...yeah I said it...when I'm exhausted or sick.

In true gemini fashion, I am both a light and heavy sleeper...depending on level of exhaustion, wellness or situation with my children, ie...are they sick?

I have a tv in my room...only because my hubby likes it.

I don't keep music on to sleep

I sleep on a small section of the bed because my hubby is a bed hog.

TMI I'm sure...

I love to sleep to. Always have. The years where my kids were young and cut down my sleep were VERY difficult years for me, but well worth it.

I'm a light sleeper unless I'm sleeping heavily. lol Which means any little thing can wake me up some nights, but other nights it takes a lot more.

I used to have the WORST time trying to fall asleep anywhere but my own bed, but after many years of traveling every chance I get that's gotten at least a little bit better. I can usually (though not always) fall asleep on planes and such now and don't have nearly as hard a time sleeping in hotels.

In the summer it takes me a while to get used to having a fan on in my room and then I love it and it takes some adjusting to get used to NOT having it in the fall.

I have to read before falling asleep at night. Some nights I read for only a few minutes, other nights I read for a few hours but I have a hard time getting to sleep unless I read at least something.

I love, love, LOVE napping on my couch with cheesy tv on. "Friends", afternoon old movies and infomercials are my favorite.

I totally get that! I actually have movies I put on specifically to help me nap, because I'm not one for taking a nap on a regular basis.

Also, I can sleep sitting up, if it is in front of a sunny window, though I'd still prefer a place to lie (lay??) down.

I like the room to be cool. I always have the ceiling fan on. The room has to be completely dark and silent. I have to have three pillows... two laid horizontally and one right next to those pillows going vertically. I don't know why, but I have to have my pillows like that. I sleep so that half of my head is on the horizontal pillows and the other half on the other pillow wacky I also need a pillow to hold on to, if I'm sleeping alone. I like to be covered with a sheet and my comforter with one of my legs sticking out from under the covers nuts I usually fall asleep within a couple of seconds of turning of the lights and getting in bed. I'm a very heavy sleeper.

I own all 10 seasons of Friends on dvd and I only ever put them in when I want to nap on a lazy afternoon.

My youngest is so cute...she's 11 and still sleeps like a hurricane, but what is so damn adorable is that in all the chaotic covers and turning that she does at night, one little foot is always out of the covers.

Preferrably:

Cold room, huge pillows, one leg hanging outside the covers (why, I don't know lol), either real rain outside my window or turn the environment machine on and select the "rainstorm" setting lol...find that one perfect sleeping position and lay perfectly still, enjoying how comfortable it is.

I sleep very well. If the world war 3 has started during night, I might not have notices. lol
I love to sleep to and I need at least 8 hours of sleep otherwise I get too tired and am not able to do things.
I love sleeping in a cold room and with open window. I need fresh air.

How I usually sleep is pretty uninteresting, so I'll offer my ideal sleeping arrangement...

Bed sitting high off the floor; medium-soft mattress; crisp, white linen sheets (no flannel, no satin, no color); at least 5 pillows; heavy blanket; plush comforter... and I wouldn't mind a slight smell of bleach, lavender or rose water in the bedding. The room should be pitch black and slightly cold. Window preferably open for a bit of a breeze (no matter the season). I prefer perfect silence in the room, with the rare exception of a jazz or classical station on, but nearly inaudible; I enjoy light sounds from outside the window -- rain, chimes, crickets, a distant train, etc. Absolutely no TV. My cat can sleep on the bed near our feet, but if he starts chasing my feet under the covers or comes up near my head, his butt is out.

Lastly, I need my inhaler and some drink next to the bed... and I really like there to be some sort of towering floor plant or tree in the room.

I'll sleep like a brick in this environment.

I like being cool but still have some covers over me

I love to sleep!!! I'm still waiting for that day when I can sleep all day cloud9
I sleep on my stomach, which my chiropractor just told me is a big no no no!
but I cant help it, it's how I am most comfortable nod with one firm pillow under my head. I like having covers on my body but usually dont cover my feet, unless it's extremely cold which is hardly ever. The lights must be off and I usually have the TV on but lately I've turned it off and find I fall asleep much quicker!

I sleep best...

1. Face down, arms under the pillow

2. In silence (fans, TVs, crickets, rain are all annoying)

3. In complete darkness

4. Wearing a tank top and drawz

5. Always under the covers (unless its unbearably hot- as it was last night)
If you will, so will I

lol thats what I'm sayin! I don't care how cute your furry ass is...respect my slumber lol

I stayed at a friends house this summer and I woke up in the middle of the night burning up hot...I thought somebody threw a blanket over me, but when I reached back it was one of the family cats sprawled out across my back

....needless to say, I had to relocate her

I sleep with blankets and comforters year round.. my room must be room temperate, I don't like the cold and i also can not sleep in humidity either.. if it gets too warm, I'll turn on the air conditioner .. I sleep with two pillows, most comfortable sideways, slightly elevated ... everything must be off when I sleep (light, television, music) it's either a t-shirt, a teddy, or nude to bed bunched up under all the heavy covers.. give me 10 minutes (depending on how tired) and I'm knocked out..

i guess i'm still recovering as i slept 12 hours last night eek

i like a comforter on top of me. i sleep with a sheet and a comforter all year around. if it's cold i'll add a blanket. it has to be pretty hot for me to kick the comforter off.

i think it's a throw back to our generation being put to sleep on our stomachs but that is how i usually start off. then for whatever reason i tend to only turn clockwise but rarely spend any time on my back. as a result my covers tend to end up on the right side of the bed. if my future hubby knows what's good for him he will make me sleep on the left.

i like quiet when i sleep. it doesn't have to be dead quiet but man is it annoying when you have to share sleeping space with someone who needs the damn tv or a damn light on to sleep.

i swear i have bought 8 pairs of pillows from costco for family and friends. they are devine. cotton cloud fibre cluster pillows so they fluff like down pillows. you can smush them or fluff them or have them flatter... they loose some loft but they never get gross and hard. highly recommended

I like the room dark, but it doesn't have to be pitch dark. I like some soft music in the background, the room should be nice and cool because I like to bury under the sheets and comforter. I *cannot* sleep if my feet are cold, so if I need to, I'll wear socks. I usually have on pyjamas (shortsleeved in the summer, long if it's winter)--I HATE long nightgowns.I usually sleep laying on my right side, although I sometimes sleep for short periods on my stomach--but after awhile that hurts my back, so I try to avoid it. Because I work for myself, I sleep as much as I need to--which is usually anywhere from 8 to 9 hours. I am pre-menoposal, so I have hot flashes at least once a week while in bed.

I slept on two pillows for years but lately cuz of neck pain I've switched back to one.

I still get neck pain because I'm in the habit of sleeping on my side with my neck forward. stab

I MUST have the TV in my room on, I know it's bad but I just can't get settled without constant, altho soft, light. I put it on an hour timer cuz I'm usually asleep before then.

I'm a fairly heavy sleeper once I'm asleep altho I have the falling dream a lot, where I JUMP awake. lol Very annoying.
