ideas for sister tattoos? So my sis and I have decided we want to get matching or coordinating tattoos in honour of, well, our being sisters.
We're fairly close, and now that we don't live in the same city anymore we thought it would be kind of a neat way to carry a reminder of the other one around. Trouble is though, we're more different than a pair of different things. She's a little gothamite (black clothes, heavy makeup, stripey tights, the whole shebang) kid that spends a hell of a lot of time listening to Elvis and painting on people's bodies. She is one of those people I do not understand that doesn't read. Or like animals all that much, the freak. She's into all kinds of high-tech gadgetry. I'm not sure what you'd call me, but everything I own is brightly coloured and obnoxiously mismatched. I listen to just about everything as long as it doesn't suck. I draw, not having the patience to let paint dry. I own more books than dishes, or movies. I'd live in a zoo if it was practical. I have a deep and probably unreasonable distrust of technology. Needless to say, our shared interests are pretty limited. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Here's our tattoo background, if that's any use.
I have 6 tattoos so far. Rainbow stars on ym left shoulder blade, a stylized eagle head on my left upper arm, hearts and bubbles on the back of my neck, a blue morning glory on my right hip, two paw prints on my right inner ankle, and Butterfly from The Last Unicorn on my right calf. Katie has 1 tattoo, a red and black star on the back of her neck. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Why don't you both come up with a design together then? If you're not that great at that kind of thing then make sure you search for a good tattooist and they will work with you to come up with a design that will suit both of you. We have a brilliant tattooist over here, if I can find the link I'll post it here, it will give you some idea of what to look for when searching for a good tattooist. Sometimes Life is like the post...You just don't get it!

That's what we're trying to do. The problem is our tastes are wildly different. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

I would research old and new symbols for "sisters" or sisterhood
Like Erzulie, the Haitian Vodoun loa ruling love and femininity and female energy and all that kind of stuff

You could each get an American complaining about gas prices, then when you're together you would have Americans complaining about gas prices. Then you'd have something to talk about. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

Or maybe a design that connotes perfect opposites, like comedy and tragedy. Or get a similar design but hers could be black and yours could be colored. But something along those lines, maybe. [Edited 9/20/08 16:24pm] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Not that you asked me, meow, but I don't dig "cultural appropriation" tattoos. Aren't your dad's people Cree? What about a Cree symbol? The Normal Whores Club
