When I was in Germany in 1998 I saw a concert poster at a hall in Nuremburg for a duo called Herman Und Schnitzi. (At least I think that was the name...I can;t find any mention of them on the net.) It was an older couple, wearing very sterotypical German outfits and looking totally miserable. For some reason I found it striking and managed to get one of the posters from the manager although he was dumbfounded why I liked it. "German humor, it's just... most people don't think it's funny."
