Ok, so I was watching a program on TV last night about very tall people, and this guy who had always thought he was 7ft 5 (and had been telling ppl that when asked) went to see a doctor for a check-up and when measured he was only 6ft 10. This got me wondering how tall I am, since I hadn't measured since I was about 16 or 17, when I recall I was just over 6ft 2.

I thought perhaps I'd find I wasn't as tall as I thought, but I had my wife measure me 2 or 3 times to make sure and it turns out I'm basically 6ft 4.

(well, 6ft 3 and 3/4)

So go and measure yourself and report back. It won't necessarily be fun, but taking part will make sure I don't feel sad about my shit thread.

For years, I honestly believed that I was 5'8" (173 cm) when I stopped growing at age 16. And that's what my driver's licenses and state ID cards have always said. However, after way too many years without having a physical exam done, I finally went to the doctor, and they measured me at 5'7" without shoes. (Actually, it was 5 feet and 6.75 inches, but they rounded that up.)

Where did the extra inch come from? Had I measured myself with shoes? Have I shrunk? Did I simply make a mistake? I have no idea.

i tell people i'm 5' 7" but i know i'm not. when i had to fill out that form to get my learner's permit at 15 i still had hope i would grow a little

the measuring tape just told me 5' 6.5"

and it seemed all my friends growing up were 5'8" or more but my sister is shorter so i guess i should be happy with what i've got.
