I grew up in a small farming community called the Scottsbluff/Gering area in western Nebraska. The Oregon trail goes right through Gering, and there are still rut markings from the covered wagons inbedded in the ground. Along with a rock that the people going west signed.

The pics are from the monument...which I grew up seeing every morning on my way to school.

This is the house I grew up in..my parents still live there.

Looks lovely where you grew up. Everyone seems to have grown up in much more exciting places than me! Maybe its a case of what you're used to, I do really enjoy visiting my home town but I would never move back there to live.

I always think that my hometown is really boring, but I've lived in Brooklyn and I've also lived in a more rural area in upstate New York and I seriously missed it. lol I like that I'm right in the middle of the city and the mountains and farms and all of that. It makes it easy to get a change of scenery every once in a while. Oh the suburbs cloud9 touched
