I don't think so... I think that he would look very different than what the x-tians think and he would take last place... such a shame, he would go home all broken-hearted and sad.

If Jesus came back looking like Jesys, he'd be arrested at the airport and perhaps detained indefinitely under provisions of the Patriot Act.

IceNine, another terrific question. I can't believe the sappy images that we've all been spoonfed over the years regarding Jesus' appearance.

I just watched the DVD of BenHur and found myself getting nauseated by the sappy images of Jesus. It begins with some ludicrous image of the "star of Bethlehem" moving like a UFO over his birthplace, then it leads to a series of the standard scenes of a long-haired, bearded, white-guy that we dummies recognize as Jesus. The movie is full of brain-numbing imagery that we as children accept as "fact."

It's amusing to visit the great museums of the world and see that the earliest recorded images of Jesus were completed 1000 years after his death. Hell, I'm not sure what George Washington actually looked like on the basis of portraits performed while he was alive, let alone artistic renditions of Jesus that occurred long after his death.

I suspect these images of Jesus are far from the truth. He probably looked more like Bin Laden, but that wouldn't go over well in our anglocentric "Christian" culture.

Jesus lives in the projects.

Jesus would never win a Jesus look-alike contest because the real Jesus probably looked more like Saddam Hussain than Robert Plant.
A few months back I watched a really great program on The Discovery Channel and some archeologists recreated what they thought, based on historical/archological data, Jesus' face looked like...pretty cool!
He had olive skin and black, short hair. Brown eyes.
NOTHING like what we see today.
