Question for those who´ve been single for a longer time

I´ve been single now for about 2 years and would really love to get involved in a steady relationship and whenever I see a pair in love, it just brings me down. Last weekend I met my cousin´s new girlfriend and they kept of hugging etc and I realized that after that I felt sad. It´s not that you don´t want those people to be happy, but it just reminds you so much of what you long for and can´t seem to find. It´s like being starving at a fiest, watching people eat, smelling the food, but not be allowed to touch it.
Have you felt the same way?

U cum up with an issue I have 2 say something on bcuz of my own life experience
I personally have by my own choice been single MANY MANY years whew
I have gone thru many situations seeing people happy, sad, and 2gether as well as lost n relationships.

I personally have been lied 2, played with, and abused by our males.
Yet I also went thru an emotional imbalance ( 2 me )
I have loved one yes 1 all of my life heart
I didn't understand what these feelings were as a young girl, then tried not 2 have them 4 this one male as we matured hmph!

first off I felt I had the right 2 choose who I wanted not him
nor some strange stuff called Soulmate I learned about this undying love thru the elders and then learned our Creator decides n many situations who you will love and who will love you.

I am a strong female who was and still is rebellious " I choose what I want "
I tried 2 replace this love with others dunce It does NOT work
I even tried hating him pissed It does NOT work
I even moved to another country trying 2 have a relationship with another
It does NOT work nutso

dear I finally stop running away from him and tried 2 deal with my emotions to
the best of my abilities and then some
face this Love so deeply inside of me, and this not understanding why this man,
and a fear of he will hurt me, he will lie 2 me, and destroy me I can't give
him control over me broken

Fear
I had to come n2 his world, his games, his arrogance, and HIM
It's ok to b without the other part of you in order 4 U 2 face yourself
mature and grow n2 the person U choose 2 b then the man
or other
shall b entered n ur life

but will they b ready 4 U, can they handle U, and if it's truly meant 2 b
U 2 will go thru many ups and downs, ins and outs, but it it's thru our
Creator heart it will last thru out eternity the Greatest Love YOU will ever
Know

It doesn't die
take your time you grow, heal from your past experiences, and b prepared for that love that has NO words 2 describe how beautiful, how great, and how real
it is love that one LOVE that never dies lives on
no matter what u 2 go thru it never dies

It's ok 2 b single, loyal, and sincere 4 that one who is going 2 b ur other part 2 cause u 2 2 b a whole hug
I can't b with another cause they r not the ones chosen 4 me
As many elders has taught me " good things cum 2 those who wait "
U will value your other part that causes U 2 2 b a whole and life much more than U ever realized

love hug
Patience is a virtue
Peace

Sometimes I feel that way but then I make a phone call to my friends who are in relationships and listen to them bitch about their significant others...that always makes me feel better, and reminds me that it's not so bad being single! smile

I've been single for almost 4 years now and I wouldn't have had it any other way. My life was complicated enough without having to worry about a boyfriend.

I'm more open to meeting people now but I'm still stuck in the whole I want my space, don't want to really be all that close to someone mindset. Not totally sure why I don't seem to want what every one else seems to want. shrug

Of course, if I was single and never getting any I would be miserable...but it's never been like that for me, so being single is great.

I've been single the vast majority of my life. I don't really know how to be any other way.
Sure, I get jealous of couples sometimes. It can be depressing. But there are many, many advantages to being single too.

When you find someone you really like it's not that hard to give up some of your 'space'. I felt the same way with my last boyfriend, he wasn't clingy so it helped. If it were a clingy needy man it would never have turned into a relationship. I guess it's who you pick.

And I agree 100% with your last statement!!! highfive

I'm okay being single. I was THE serial monogamist for a very long time.

I'm sure you wont be single for long. Just remember, never settle.

I was single for a while before I got into this whole on/off again relationship mess I'm in now. But my advice for u is to just be patient. Focus on yourself and the things that make u happy. Who know, while u r doing YOU, that's when the right person will come along.

To me there is nothing worse than being in a relationship and still looking at other couples wishing u had what they have with your significant other.
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

hmmm Maybe that´s the problem. lol

I´ve got one more question to those who wrote that they have been single for a while because they want to: Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?

Well I'm an introvert and I'm fine with that. Are u an introvert and not okay with it? Is that what u r really asking? Well if it is, then u have to figure out why u feel that way. I don't think it should matter either way if u r extro or intro but how u see yourself as a single person. I've read some of your posts on other sites and u seem to be a decent & nice person...u just have be a little more patient and in the meantime have fun being u with u. hug
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Most definitely an introvert. And a shy person at that.

Is that a big reason why I'm single? Probably. I don't meet men I'm interested in and I don't like talking to people I don't know, like, ever. lol

But I'm typing, not talking. It's different.

And when I've met people at invasions and things, I've usually spent at least a bit of time getting to know them online first. And when it's a big group, I'm usually in a corner or on the end, not saying much to anyone.

It even took me a while to warm up to you in person, if you remember. I'm shy! lol

I went through about a decade where I was an extreme extrovert, but have reverted to my natural, introverted ways.

Take a look you see I painted you a picture,
It's black and white except the blood's a little richer
Down in the corner I gave it my signature
And then I titled it "This one's for the Winter"

Check it out, you see it's just a big disaster
I dedicate it to the fact that it's so hard for you to dream,
A million heartbeats around you make it hard to sleep
Doesn't help you're freezing in your bed your blankets aren't enough
All you want is some one there, all you say is so

Love, Love, Kiss, Kiss, blah blah blah.
You're making me sick, I wish you'd just stop showing off
For the rest of us that no one wants to love
It's hard enough trying to drink another Winter all alone
Love, Love, Kiss, Kiss, blah blah blah.

Well do you find you like to fall in love with people that you're never gonna meet?
It's easier than breaking up and crying in the street
Do you curse the happy couple? Do you cringe at wedding bells?
Do you drink up all the punch while you wish 'em all to

Love, Love, Kiss, Kiss, blah blah blah.
You're making me sick, I wish you'd just stop showing off
For the rest of us that no one wants to love
It's hard enough trying to drink another Winter all alone
Love, Love, Kiss, Kiss, blah blah blah.

You can't escape this fatal case of melancholia
It's in your face, in every place you go it's stalking you
And there are days when we all say we feel we just can't go on
But you've felt this way all along

Love, Love, Kiss, Kiss, blah blah blah.
You're making me sick, I wish you'd just stop showing off
For the rest of us that no one wants to love
It's hard enough trying to drink another Winter all alone
Love, Love, Kiss, Kiss, blah blah blah.
