For me, it's the outdoors...whether it be a stroll around
a lake or a walk in the woods...or for a really quick fix,
standing in my backyard breathing in the (pretty much)fresh air...
with fall now it's a little crisp, which I like.

Just a bit ago I went to my backyard and looked at the night sky,
which is always beautiful...any anxieties I had quickly dissipated
into the night air.

Now I'm following up with some really soft music, and a cup
of herbal tea.....hopefully sleep will follow shortly lol

Walking, and while walking I usually think through why am feeling anxious, and then usually since most of the time it's something stupid,I make myself rationalize it,makes me snap out of pretty fast, and if that doesn't work I usually talk to someone that makes me see that I am being anxious for nothing, like a calm in my storm. smile

an

I try to identify what is making me anxious, then just roll through whatever I need to minimise it. Letting go of worrying about what others opinions are of me takes care of alot of anxiety I used to have. Basically, who cares.

I was and am sort of working through current unease about choices I've made (partner/career/direction/lack of discipline/focus) and the general sense of being overwhelmed. I'm going through a downsizing of throwing half the shit I've managed to accumulate in the last 5 years. Literally went through the double closet that was packed with boxes of shit, threw all my clothes on the bed and threw away or gave away at least half of it. Actually felt pretty good. I have the benefit of not having huge financial pressure or any children, I imagine there is anxiety there that I have no appreciaton of.

All the actions you take are as good as any I can think of. Last year I went out camping in the middle of nowhere a couple of hours from the nearest town and I hadn't seen the night sky like this since I was a little kid. We spent all night going "wow", better than any smoke, for sure! lol

Lots' & lots' of masturbation.

lol

OK on a serious note - for the first - 20? - years of my life I just thought it was a normal state of being. Then I somehow came to the sobering realization that I am not going to solve any of the world's problems by obsessing over them...so I've learned to just take things in stride. It's been a gradual process.

For example, a few years back my job was killing me. I was overworked, underpaid, the boss was a Nazi, and I couldn't find a decent job elsewhere. The office staff all quit and it was just me & the boss at one point. Being the goody-goody that I am, I stayed and tried to keep the office together. It got to the point where I'd wake up in the morning and go vomit in the toilet from stress. I actually lost a good portion of the hair on my head!

That's when my wife reminded me that while the Nazi was going to one day sell the company and take his cash to Hawaii...I'd be sitting somewhere with cancer or a tumor or something.

So I took it one step at a time...what got done got done, and what didn't got filed away...and sure enough he sold the company and retired.

Two & 1/2 years later I'm in a better place, with lesson learned & trying to regrow my hair.
