What makes you feel better when you're anxious? For me, it's the outdoors...whether it be a stroll around
a lake or a walk in the woods...or for a really quick fix, standing in my backyard breathing in the (pretty much)fresh air... with fall now it's a little crisp, which I like. Just a bit ago I went to my backyard and looked at the night sky, which is always beautiful...any anxieties I had quickly dissipated into the night air. Now I'm following up with some really soft music, and a cup of herbal tea.....hopefully sleep will follow shortly lol | |

there's nothing wrong with a little bit of anxiety.
though when it gets out of hand, the best thing i can do is just slow it down a bit...find a way to remove myself from the reality of my surroundings, even if it's just for 5 minutes, so i can zone out, go neutral, re-center and re-group. i won't call it meditation, but every day i do need some time where i'm just sitting or laying down with no music, preferably with dim or no lighting, and no distractions. sometimes i fall asleep and nap, but usually i just lay or sit and enjoy the stillness. that helps a lot. | |

Well then, I wasn't so far off What's nice about a long distance flight is that it actually gives you time to calm down, if that makes sense. lol I used to hate flying, but I'm much better now...it actually helps me to sit by the window and see out. My very first flight I took a strong sleeping pill and was sleeping before the plane took off and didn't wake up till it landed. That was the one and only time I slept on a plane I wish you a wonderful flight...it'll be so worth it Just keep the goal in mind, that helps too. | |

I generally don't do anxiety anymore ("Don't sweat the small stuff. And it's all small stuff"). But, if it reared its ugly head, I'd begin with the first letter of Guru Pitka's D.R.A.M.A. system ("Distraction"). Either that or I'd yak into a paper bag.
