You know...when I was a kid my parents would take a green mango and mix it with vinegar, salt, pepper & a bit of hot sauce. It's a Honduran thing.
I'm gonna stop by Trader Joe's TOMORROW (I pass one every day from work but have never stepped foot inside) and look for this & see how it compares.


if your parents recipe is better then you need to share the recipe for your honduran thing, cuz the only thing better than this snack would be making something better from scratch!

That sounds really good. I'm gonna have to try that out sometime drooling

The trick is to get a truly GREEN mango. Once it's ripe it spoils the effect of the vinegar & hot sauce.
However, they still take a ripe or semi-ripe mango and sprinkle just salt & pepper on it and it's pretty good.
