LOVE, personally.

LOVE.

On some level everybody yearns for it, some desperately. For some, it's an ideal they strive for. For others, it's a feeling they're trying to reclaim. And for others, it's experiencing something they don't feel they've ever had.

All of us have in our minds what we think it is. Some of us would give anything to have it. Some of us, claim we don't need it. But all of us know what it is in our own minds. All of us have at one time felt the tug of it to some degree.

What have you seen, personally, that completely illustrates what love is to you?

FOR ME:

(i've told this story before so forgive me if it's repetitious), it was my sister's love for her children.

My sister is deafly afraid of wildlife. She hates bugs, spiders, snakes, lizards, just about anything. She is especially afraid of Floridian aquatic wildlife, namely alligators.

One day a few years ago, while canoing the Little Manatee River just south of where I live, my sister and her husband, and I along with my two nephews, went for a 4 hour canoe trip.
On the last hour the shallow river bed gave way to deeper, darker waters--a well known fact is that along with Manatee, the the river also has Alligators in it.
My sister and brother-in-law were in their own boat paddling down the river ahead of my 6 and 7 year old nephews and me (that was 4 hours of hard peddling for me, cause them kids were useless lol ).

Anyways, my nephews kept rocking the boat until finally it capsized, in water that was too deep for me to reach the bottom so that I could easily turn the boat back over. We managed to snag a branch from a tree on the river's banks that had fallen over. With one hand on the boat and the other trying to grab hold of the branch, I yelled to my sister and brother in law. The turned their boat around and came towards us.
When my sister saw the capsized boat, without hesitation she jumped in the water and started swimming for her children. (what sense it made to jump out of a boat that could tred water faster than she could swim, I don't know lol).

In the end we managed to flip the boat back over, and despite a ruined camera, iPod, and electronic car keys, we were safe, and healthy.

What struck me about that incident is that despite her absolute feer of fresh water, of alligators, and of wildlife in general, she jumped in the water without so much as a second's hesitation. Through the entire experience, she had absolutely no concern for her own safety. It was all about the kids. That's all she cared about.

I've said this so many times, but I mean it. A woman..A mother who loves her children, is the most beautiful creature when she loses herself to that love. mushy

I think seeing a parent, mother or father, completely lost within the love they have for their children, ranks at the top of my list heart...

Also, any love expressed between humans and animals nod...

In both cases, the love is genuine and the appreciation flows and is expressed without hesitation.

some mothers are truly amazing...my own wife has astounded me with her love for our children...I love my children more than anything, but I know that it could never match the emotional bond that my wife has with them...some folks think that "motherly love" is all contrite bullshit...in some cases that may be true but when it's genuine, there is nothing stronger...
