I love novels 'journey' novels that are localized where the protagonist goes about a mission, and in doing so, you discover the landscape of the places he visits through the characters and locations. Basically a story that doesn't quite get resolved in the end, tells you about the local culture of places, and leaves you to decide if they found what they were looking for.
I'd love to do one with Florida as the setting. Books by Tim Dorsey, which I find wildy amusing and entertaining, are part of genre of books that show the wild , insane, side of Florida, but you learn very little about the place itself outside of that. I want folks to see my Florida, the hot, sticky, Florida that smells of swamp rot, salt water, and weaves through endless mangroves. And the Florida I see from my kayak.

But I'd also like to do a critic of my generation through a cross generational story--say how someone my age views today opposed to someone still in highschool. I think when we live in a time that's as lost as ours, story lines can be very messy and morally ambiguous adding all sorts of flavor to a story, if not direction lol

oh, and I need to learn proper grammar and spelling too. shrug
