Can I also say in my defence that having children never made anyone an expert? That comes through years of experience of a child meself and me being an uncle and, well, a good observationalist, if that's a word.

But being an expert on children or child-rearing wasn't the issue. People living through raising them sometimes need to vent, and someone NOT living through that saying "quit bitching, that's what you fucking get" is going to raise some hackles.
