No, I'm not asking for advice lol ...I was just curious as to what everyone here thought on the subject. (mods, this isn't meant as political, so hopefully it doesn't get lumped into that category).
And if your daughter didn't want to go on birth control, what would you do or say?  ...

I have a house rule for my boys.... no full time job = no dating.
You will not be a broke ass on someone's couch with nothing to do but have sex. You want to date ... get and keep a job. Until then, focus on school and sports. I scared my son when I fully described the vagina and how to make a woman cum. I was wayyyy too graphic 17 and so far so good, although I do let him watch porn in his room. I just let him and I don't ask.
For my daughter who is now six...the same applies. Dude will have to have a job if he wants to date her. That said, I'd make it clear a decision that she'd begin birth control would not equal my condoning sexual activity. Moreover, the intervention and adamance with which I worked against her having sex would be far greater the younger this might occur. That is to say, I'd let my 17-year-old know I didn't approve; but I'd actually break out the shotgun, call up the all-girl boarding school in BFE or buy an electric fence for my 12-year--old. I love this post.... this is me too... but I did it with two boys, my 17yr.old son and nephew (my nephew came to me to my shock  ) should I tell my daughter that its OK to masturbate like I did w/ the boys? I am so used to dealing with boys that my daughter is foreign to me. I hope I don't mess up with her.

Very good topic and I ahve a daughter who is about to turn 13 as well.I never given it much thought( thank you for bringing this to my attention honestly). I was my daughter age and was put on NOT for sexual activity but for my acne problems and to straighten out my monthly cycles( was supposed to clear it up didnt for me). And in no way do I think its okay fo rbeign put on the pill for girls to have sex. Im still thinking about this fo rmy daughter, this will be on my mind now.
