shrug

Didn't Einstein state that it was possible?

I personally can't see HOW you could leave this plane of existence and visit matter that no longer exists...but then again I don't fully understand E=MC2 either.

However, we all know that we can see the past (starlight takes so long to get to us that alot of the stars that we see in the sky no longer exist) so - theoretically - if you could build a super-mega-gigantinormously powerful telescope and send it 1,000x faster than the speed of light, then you could aim the tescope back at earth and see events that transpired 1,000 years ago.

Imagine a door that opens on one side 2 another dimension. There have been motion pictures that touch upon such a door. There are elements in the universe that mankind is only starting 2 understand. Watch a movie like Stargate. U think that is 100% fiction?

I can get with that notion.
nod

However, until we are much more advanced, we shouldn't be opening those doors anytime soon. Lord knows what could come in.

I do believe it's possible because I don't believe that time is necessarily linear outside of our existence.

Agreed. I wonder what the real reason was for starting Earth's calendar over 2008 years ago?

confuse
What are you hinting at? You think that Jesus' borth was a landmark for a future event?
...and BTW it's not "earth's" calendar...just the European one.
Mesoamericans are still keeping time based on the ancient Toltec/Mayan/Aztec calendar, (I assume you already know about 12/21/12) and the Jews, Persians, Chinese, etc,. are still going strong with their original calendars.

Interesting theory. I tried to find another relevant example but didn't manage to.

I wish i had a time machine, like in the H.G. Wells novel (one of my all time fave worship)

I thought of this thread when I saw the commercials for this...

The plot follows a secret branch of the United States' National Security Agency who have developed a time travelling device based upon alien technology found at Roswell. As the opening of the show says, the Chronosphere, or Backstep Sphere, sends one human being back in time seven days to avert disasters. The show's name refers to the fact that the Backstep Project can only backstep seven days because of limitations imposed by the fuel source and its reactor. As the fuel source is limited, there is a strict mandate that they only Backstep for events relating to "National Security". The backstep team and the equipment are stationed in a base called Never Never Land, which is in a secret location somewhere in the desert of Nevada.
