Do you know if Andy got pepper-sprayed?
I know he got tear-gassed, but I hadn't heard yet if he caught any of the pepper spray...

are you sad that Roger Ebert has left his show?

no, because really, look at the poor guy. he looks like a sad california raisin now, though i really do admire him for keeping on with his writing even though he seems to be flailing against the screen door of the great beyond. seriously, though - let him dictate his reviews to a typist and post it on a blog or something. i'll still read it. though ya know, it's never really been the same since siskel went to that big screening of "babe: pig in the city" in the sky. sad

what word do you hate?

off the top of my head, i hate the word "historic". why? because people always say "AN historic event" and it gets on my nerves. why wouldn't it be "A historic event"? H is not a vowel. i was never taught to say "AN" before an h-word. i refuse to say "an historic". i may be the only person on earth who says "A historic" but to hell with it. someone's got to carry the torch. anyway, i hate hearing "AN historic". hate it.

if you could have dinner with one celebrity, which one would you choose?

living or dead? living, it would of course have to be john waters since he's my guru and my gay fairy godparent. he could give me pointers on how to be a hipster past the age of 60. dead, it would either be janis joplin or little edie beale from the film "grey gardens". edie could teach me how to wrap sweater turbans on my head or janis could teach me how to pace myself with whiskey. well, she probably couldn't teach me that, but it would be fun watching her try.

have you ever read count of monte cristo?...

what kind of amish aviator ass imago book club question is this?

name a city/country you'ld love to visit, but haven't yet...

i'm embarrassingly overdue for a trip to london. i mean, i've been to reykjavik but not london? what's that about?

is Alex Rodriguez a great baseball player who chokes?

you know i can't answer this. a better question for me would be, like, "has lagerfeld gone too beige this year?"

what is the best way to keep the grout in the shower free from mold?

don't store bread in there.

if you and CBorgie were at a show, and Parker Posie started hitting on him, would you stick up for him?

no. i would point at his crotch, hold my nose and say "this is a good place for a stick-up!"

you've been taught wrong.....'h' is in many languages silent, those languages are older than English and English was based on them! 'AN historic', 'AN hour'....it's all correct.....I only wonder about 'AN helicopter'.....
( hah! sorry Anx, I just couldn't resist!)

"an hour" i'll give you, since the "h" is silent, but "historic" has a hard "h".

and i have no doubt that i was taught wrong on many levels - after all, i have an american public school education, so i probably don't even know how to pronounce my own name. though thanks for correcting me and then proving your own correction to be questionable. that was about as helpful as tits on a flea, and twice as appealing!

What's your favourite Klosterman piece?

falloff

wait, you're serious, right?

ummm, i have to be honest, it's been a while since i've acknowledged his existence, so i'd have to do a quick refresher before i could recall one of his pieces that even modestly stuck with me.
boxed

Woody film?

bow

Madonna song?

i like 'secret' because it's laid back and trashy. i want joey heatherton or karen black to cover it. they could sing it together as a duet. runners-up are 'frozen' and 'human nature'.

Warhol quote?

gosh

gee

ummmmm

i don't know

if i'm still gung-ho with the project i've been working on this summer, i might have to forego NANWRIMO this year, but at least i'll still be writing!

i'll be cheerleading you from the sidelines, though. nod
