Shinnecock 2008 pics

Took the kids to the Shinnecock Pow Wow this weekend.

AWESOME experience!

I had the Indian Taco (frybread w/ chili-con-carne, cheese, lettuce & Tomato). Next year I might gather up the nerve to try Buffalo or Deer.

Anyway, just wanted to share some pics!

I bet, I've seen a lil bit of that before. I went to a pow wow once but it wasn't a planned trip so we like walked threw and checked some stuff out. There was someone performing a dance that we watched but then we left. confused

If I ever get that chance again, I'll take the kids and make a day of it for sure.

We have a weekend gathering like that every year in my town.

Ours was this past weekend. It was rained out. bawl

Sorry about the dark evening pics. I haven't figured out the right setting on the camera for action nightime shots.

However the last one was a fire dance by one of the Aztec dancers...he placed his feet, ankles, knees and toes in the fire!
