Sex Offenders in Your Neighborhood.

How would you feel about registered sex offenders moving right across from you? When I found out about the new people across the street, I felt a little sick.

Depends.

Some people get the label for having sex with a 15 year old when they are 16 due to the way the laws are laid out.

If it's a straight up pedophile or a violent offender, I would be very apprehensive about it. Especially if I had kids.

If it was MJ, I would leave town.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

There were seven sex offenders on the block I moved off of. Three of them were for violent crimes. Unless you are gonna herd them up and put them in a colony somewhere, I can guarantee there are sex offenders on every block in this country.

they are in every neighborhood. If I knew one lived right across the street and I had kids....I'd be livid. I'd warn my kids every day to never ever speak to that person and if they try to speak to them they are to turn tail and RUN! and SCREAM!

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what it is that he's guilty of. I hope it's not molesting a child. I don't know much about them, since they're new. Plus, I'm not the mingling, "get to know the neighbors" type. I just know that two men live over there and the offender is around my Mom's age. The people who live beside them have kids, and their yard is [i]always[i] full of their kids & other kids playing. I wonder if they know. I know people are capable of changing, but if I was a parent, the fact would still linger in the back of my mind.

I feel those cases are rare...but you're right...there is all levels of "sex offender" Perhaps I'd go right up the the person and ask them....then again...perhaps I wouldn't boxed ahh but for the sake of my children....I'd be brave and go find out.

if you know his name and now you know his address although it may take awhile for the system to be updated (that's IF he registered..he should have) you can look up his crime on that link I provided...it should atleast say if assualt was on a child under 13 or not and how many convictions too. I'd inform you neighbors.

There is a sex offender website that you can find out exactly what the offense is.

wasn't there just a thread or two about this? confuse

my opnion on the matter is that these registries give people a false sense of security. if i had kids, you'd better believe my attitude would be that anyone i don't know and trust in my neighborhood has the potential to do harm to my child, whether they're on a registry or not. at least if someone is on a registry, they've been caught, punished, and hopefully rehabilitated to the extent that they know to mind their own business. of course i would be on guard with that knowledge, but it's the ones who haven't been found out yet that i'd be more concerned about.

I think that ALL people who are convicted of Felonies...convicted killers or arsonists or embezzelers or drug dealers etc. should be put on a public forum and everyone in the neighborhood notified. If fact I think that there should be a sign on their house just to make it easier to see and avoid.

There is a sex offender website that you can find out exactly what the offense is.

I'm only aware of the one website I posted familywatchdog.us and it does have information like this
"632-A:3,II Felonious Sexual Assault(Victim 13 or older & under 16 & age diff more than 3 years)" but I don't really know the ins and outs of the law...so to me, if it says victim under 13...there's just NO excuses period.

It's all about being aware and making your kids aware of the dangers. Just because someone isn't "listed" doesn't make them or the world for that matter any less dangerous...they may not have done it just yet but are thinking of it, or may not have been caught.

This doesnt particularly apply 2 me personally, but my parents live in Dorset in the UK, and the next county going east is Hampshire and, apparently, this is the county, where our most famous deported sex offender, Gary Glitter, has decided 2 set up home!!!!! My parents live in Verwood and the nearest fair-sized town is Ringwood in Hampshire, which is about 7 miles away, so, who knows, he could have settled there!!!

YIKES!!!!! sad sad sad shocked shocked

that guy is so persecuted that i think society is more of a threat to him than he is to society. i'm not saying he didn't earn that fate, but sheesh. the guy has to live SOMEwhere, and wherever he goes he's going to be under intense scrutiny. i say put him up in munster mansion and forget about him.

I'm with you on this. I'd have to know what kind of offense they committed. Not all so called "sex offenders" are the same.

So, if someone is a sex offender, does that mean that they will keep offending? If that's true, why don't simply make it a capital crime and make it punishable by death? Or is that like too harsh?

We all remember the old Sesame Street song - all together now...

'These are the pedos in your neighbourhood
In your neighbourhood
In your neighbourho-oo-od
They're the people that you meet
When you're walking down the street
They're the pedos that you meet each day!'

they say that the child molesters never stop molesting. I know that one was run outta my neighbohood...somebody distributed flyers with his pic and posted them everywhere. He had to leave cuz if he sneezed in any childs direction he would get knocked the fuck out. If they never get better, why release them?
