You´re right about the fact that envy does not help. I don´t think I am that envioes though. But just watching couples in love, you can´t help being reminded of what you are missing. I am trying to get it out of my head, sometimes more successfully sometimes less. It is not easy to control emotions through brains.

I tend to think one doesn't get envious IF in fact, they ARE happy being single. There's no reason to be envious. I think we ALL want/need the good parts of a relationship (hugging, general affection, etc.) what I think I don't want is that feeling you get when something that was good turns bad. I can do without that personally. confused

Agree. I am not sure if I am happy being single. Some of the time, I don´t mind and others I do.

I should say more to this. I think to most orgers now it should be common knowledge that often times I go through something similar to your situation. My problem is that I'm what they call "involuntarily celibate" meaning I want it, but I just can't get it. It could be because of my weirdness, lack of money, shyness, or lack of opportunity. Others have said that it has to do with my lack of self-confidence, love for myself, and faith in finding someone. Also they said that I've been carrying around this defeatist attitude and a chip on my shoulder. But my argument was that if you've been repeatedly rejected, dissed and ostracized, you're gonna start to adopt a sort of bitter attitude. You don't want to, but that's just what happens. When it's Friday night and I'm out on the town and I see couples holding hands and kissing and stuff, it does frustrate me. It frustrates me even more when there's no one to call to get out of that jam.

That must be why I like that Prince song "Somebody's Somebody" so much. lol

Rejected recently too.

Anyways, I like that song, too, especially the lyrics.
