nod They actually ripped off Living Single. I heard Queen Latifah say in an interview that the original title of LS was Friends and that the pilot was shopped to NBC who passed but developed their own white version. She made some other comparisons to Friends showing the connection but I forgot what they were.disbelief

I really enjoyed the show and I still watch it on the Oxygen network.

To even add to SCNDLS' post, Latifah said one of the producers of NBC came up to her at a party and said he loved her show and a year later Friends shows up.

When I was home on medical leave back in March, I watched it on Thursdays when they did that 4 or 5 in a row... I wish it was on everyday! biggrin

I loved that show! biggrin I was actually just talking about a couple of days ago with my sister. I use to laugh when Kyle, and Maxine would get into their spats, their was always a little of a sexual tension between those two though. They hated each each, but wanted each other. lol

I loved that show.

I never got into Friends. Just couldn't care about any of the characters. They were all rather vapid and...well...not very funny.

This show was and still is a great show!! They had a good run, but I wish it had lasted longer. I didn't care for Friends at all and Livin Single was definately better.

I didn't know about the NBC connection but I always said that Friends was a rip-off of LS.

Living Single was one of the best shows at that time. I always cracked up.

I could never understand why it was largely overlooked...other than the fact that it was a "black" show of course.
